Spring is in the air! Photos from a weekend walk…………………….

We went out last weekend with the camera and were amazed at all the beautiful blossom on the trees and the wonderful colours and shapes of the tulips in full flower.  It truly was a sight to see!  Above are just a few of the photos we took.

Some looks from the boutique……………….

Meriem took a few photos in the shop last week while I was putting up a new wall sticker (I shall show you my efforts in another blog post) !  I really like the effect Instagram brings to photos so we thought we would share them with you here.

In the top photograph Meriem matched the pretty Louis Louise denim jacket for babies with the light and delicate Louis Louise Overall Bikini in peach for babies.

The bottom image shows the ‘Green Overall – Stars’.  This is a pretty overall from french designer Le Marchand d’Etoiles and is perfect for warmer Spring and Summer months.  Take a look at this childrens designer overall here – Le Marchand d’Etoiles Girls overall

New childrens wall sticker…………………

I love this new wall sticker that we just added to the French Blossom boutique.  The fluorescent pink cord gently twists around the branch and hangs down supporting a lovely array of coloured round shapes.   I can almost imagine these coloured discs twisitng and turning gently in the breeze.

You can buy this decorative branch childrens wall sticker here – french blossom wall stickers

Stopping off for a treat in Paris………………………..

I gobbled up this really delicious carrot cupcake  in just a few seconds while in Paris a couple of days ago.  There are more and more cupcake stores popping up all around the city as Parisians seem to love these little cakes!  Its quite strange to see how popular they are in France, especially as French Pastries and sweet treats are world famous.  There are two cupcake shops on Rue de L’Abbé Grégoire in the 6th Arrondissement in Paris.  You can sample them for yourselves.  Closest metro lines are Vaneau, Rennes or Saint Placide.

If cupcakes are not your ‘cup of tea’- (excuse the joke) and you prefer the more traditional French Salon de Thé, another little place just around the corner is certain to be just for you.  Mamie Gâteaux opened its doors in 2003 and is a really traditional tea house selling homemade tarts, salads, soups and some really delicious cakes and sweet treats!  This tea house is quite popular with locals and has such a quaint and relaxing ambiance inside. – You feel far removed from the hustle and bustle of Paris.

Mamie Gâteaux tea house can be found at the corner of rue du Cherche Midi and rue de L’Abbé Grégoire.  This little tea room is certainly worth a visit when in Paris.

Handmade poetic Garlands………………………

These new colourful, handmade garlands are so beautiful and look delightful as decoration in any room of the home.  They are dreamy and poetic but at the same time flashy and fun with touches of neon pink and yellow running through the design.  Neon seems to be so popular at the moment!

With each cloud shaped paper garland being handmade in in the the South of France, each one is unique and original.

The wonderful illustrations of Marloes de Vries……………

I love the playful and fun illustrations of Marloes de Vries.  I had to share them with you!  Born in the Netherlands, Marloes began her career as a graphic designer and arts director but quickly found her calling in life as an illustrator.

Here whimsical, sweet illustrations are really delightful.  One of my favourites has to be the girl flying high above the houses in her magical cardboard box aeroplane. – This super illustration delves into the imagination of children so well!

Sunday Pinterest find…………………..

I was pouring some milk on my cereal this morning from a plastic milk carton without paying much attention to the design or lack of design! Then I found this really fun ‘blown glass’ design of a milk carton, while on pinterest. How much more enjoyable would it be to serve the milk from a glass carton like this !!

I remember when I was young the milk bottles, delivered every morning to your doorstep were made from glass with a thick aluminium foil seal :-) Now its only plastic or carton.
