Edvard Munch – The Scream

I wonder if, when Edvard Munch sat down to create ‘The Scream’ in 1895 he could ever imagine it would be sold for an astonishing 120million dollars someday.

There are four versions of this painting and this is the only one in private hands – the others all being in museums. Yesterday it was sold to an anonymous bidder and became the most expensive piece of art ever sold at auction!

This artwork was in fact created using pastels not paint and is one of the most recognizable pieces from Edvard Munch or any artist from this period. There is also a poem written on the frame by the Norwegian artist.
